Happy Birthday, my guy! He was up on campus all day and night Tuesday, so we celebrated Monday night with the whole family. I MADE A PIE, yes you read that right, I made my first pie! I have always just gotten my pie fix from my Dad, who is master pie maker and have never attempted my own. Hyrum loves the caramel apple pie from Costco, but there is no Costco here, and my dad's not here, so I found one that won the 2003 Food Network Great American Pie Cook-Off. I thought it must be good, and it was really good, and I am not a huge fan of apple pie. But, I didn't make my own crust. I bought that at the store. Baby steps, right? It has a yummy streusel topping with skor bits.
Anyway, we made him dinner, opened presents, and had pie and ice cream and then played how well do you know Daddy? That was a hoot and the kids learned lots about him.
The boys and I met him for lunch on Tuesday to go to Rosa's Cafe. Happy 32 years, honey! We love you!
