February Updates...

First of all, where did January go?!? Holy cow...everyone is over the chickenpox and healthy~hooray! I met with my doctors on Tuesday. They need my thyroid levels to be at 25 to be able to begin the iodine treatment and right now they are at 12.9, so now it's just a waiting game. I'll go in every week to see where I'm at, but in the meantime, I'm trying to keep moving to keep my mind occupied and to stay warm and alert as my metabolism is going way down in preparation for the treatment. So, we're tackling the kitchen! Are we crazy?? Yes. What a pain!

This week it has been getting rid of the lovely daisy wallpaper. It is much harder to get off than the entryway, so we rented a wallpaper steamer and that was our date on Friday night: Hyrum, me, the steamer and the scraper after the kids went to bed. So, the kitchen is coming SLOWLY bit by bit painting, peeling, scraping, sanding, you get the idea.

The girls started piano lessons in January and are doing awesome! At first, they were fighting over who got to practice first, but that's already wearing off, and I am just hearing myself saying all the things my mom used to say to me. We found the piano for a steal on craigslist~it was built in the 1930's and has an awesome tone and some gorgeous woodwork. It is beastly heavy though.

Lauren and Hailey have both gotten student of the month at their school, so I had to take a picture of them together. Lauren is on the student council too~she was so excited about it and Hyrum asked her what the student council does, and she thought for awhile and said, well they...I think...well, I don't know. :)

Logan is doing great with the potty training and has been waking up dry too for the past 3 weeks, so that has been a huge help.

Spencer is getting his top two teeth and has also been sleeping through the night. (yahoooooooo!) He is so funny with Baby Einstein Neighborhood Animals. He loves that DVD the most, but hates this frog:

He gets a big lower lip and just whimpers or cries until it's gone and likes someone there with him when it comes on. We joke if he ever wakes up screaming that he must have been dreaming of the frog.

I guess kids just get more fun as they grow up! I love that Spencer is afraid of that frog! What a sweet boy (I'm glad he's finally sleeping through the night for you). I don't think anyone really knows what student council does in elementary school :)! Love you guys -- thanks for the update!

I think I was on student council in 4th grade. I don't remember what my duties were either! :P And I know the feeling of finally getting a full nights rest without interruptions! It's WONDERFUL! Of course that may not last long with that frog scaring him! I wonder what it is about that frog that's so scary???
