If you find a spare minute in your day, say a prayer for all of our neighbors to the south who will be affected by Ike this weekend.
All schools and universities are closed here today because of the massive rains and flooding of streets we've had. I have never seen or driven in rain like this. Our street was fine, but the intersections are crazy. It's incredible, but supposed to let up for us while Houston/Galveston get pounded.
The rain is supposed to continue through today, so it's going to be a loooooong day of us all being together inside. Their favorite source of entertainment: throwing each other on the couches. They were so bummed because tonight was supposed to be their school night at the little local amusement park. Maybe I'm the one that will be needing the prayers today :)

How fun, throwing little one on sofa! Hang in there Mom!
I don't recall where in Texas you are, but this IKE is so huge that tons of us are feeling the effects. Since yesterday we have had squalls, rain & wind gusts of 45 mph. There is flooding in low lying ares and the bayou that I'm looking at out my window is creeping closer and closer to the street. Be safe and take it easy, I'll be thinking of you!
Hope you guys "weather" this storm okay. Randy's folks are in Houston on a mission...and they have been told to stay at their apartment. I hope they are okay too! Doesn't look like much fun to be on the Texas, Galveston coastline right now!
We'll be praying for ya here in Idaho!!!
Are you far enough inland that you will be safe? You're in our prayers!
we've gotten some pretty heavy rain today along with some tornado warnings. I remember when I was living with my parents in Houston, and we had a HUGE storm and there was some SERIOUS flooding. That wasn't too fun. Fortunately there wasn't any flooding in my parents neighborhood, BUT there were a lot of people in my parents stake who had a lot of flood damage to their homes. We will definitely pray for your safety AND your SANITY! :)
Thanks, everyone! We're over our little rain/flood party now~send the prayers toward the Galveston/Houston area~I'm nervous for them!
My little brother and his wife are in Houston and while they have no power they are doing okay. Glad you guys are good!
Just watched the news and although it was bad, it didn't seem to be as big as they thought it was going to be. Hope you survived yesterday and that everyone is able to get outside today and play! Love you!
Who is self confessed lamp tramp?? Anyway your blog is cute as always and I love all your ideas. You amaze me. I'm glad you live in Lubbock and not Houston =)
