Hyrum and my parents gave me the best birthday present ever: I got to fly up to meet my family up in Salt Lake for conference and my sister, Kelsey was able to come from Wisconsin! It was soooooo much fun and I still can't believe it all happened. Conference was so inspiring~it was exactly what I needed. I was able to go to the solemn assembly with my sister Kelsey and my Dad; what an experience to stand and sustain President Monson and to feel of his amazing spirit and see the mantle of prophet rest upon him. I was also able to attend the Sunday afternoon session with my mom and it felt like "my session", if that makes sense. It seemed every talk was exactly what I needed to hear. Elder Ballard's was especially touching to me~I was sitting there with my Mom and don't know how many Kleenex I went through, but I just felt like it should have been titled, "what Melissa needs to hear right now." It was just a perfect, rejuvenating weekend and so FUN! We covered many miles and ate a ton:
* Zupa's in Provo for the first time ever (yum!!)
* Kristin's cute house
* Real Deals Home Decor in Provo~very, very cute affordable things
* Cafe Rio! no explanation needed there...
* Taipan! (my sisters were very patient with me~I take forever in that huge place!!)
* Deseret Book Outlet
* Steve & Barry's (I got 3 pairs of capris and 2 jeans for under $50!)
* Olive Garden
* dessert at Macaroni Grill
* late nights at the hotel and sore feet in the hot tub
* Distribution Center
* seeing Rod, Georgi, Jamie, little Lucy and Rod Jr. downtown before priesthood session
* The Gateway and Deseret Book downtown for Ladies Night
* birthday dinner at the Garden restaurant
* spending a night at Michael & Kristine's (thanks guys~especially to Michael for taking me to the airport at 4 a.m.!!)
our favorite thing to do together...eat!

my newest nieces: Mckenna and Brooklyn! They are the sweetest, cutest things ever!

with my Grandma Lofgren
It was really good to get back to Hyrum and the kids though~they cleaned the whole house and made the cutest cards~so nice to come home to!
and now I'm afraid it's back to reality...and laundry

Melissa!!! How happy I am that you got to have such a fun trip! You so deserved a visit like that! While I am totally jealous...I am completely happy for you!!!
You look GREAT by the way!!! Your hair is getting so long...and I like it!!!!
Miss you!!!
Hope you had a great Birthday!!! I miss being able to steal you away for lunch on your bday!!! Hope you are doing GREAT!!!!
Very cute, Melissa! I love it! I really love how you just highlighter all of our fun stops. I was thinking I should have done that instead of writing that whole blasted story. Oh well. :) Hope your birthday was the best ever and that you were able to get caught up on everything. I miss you already! So does Mckenna - things aren't as exciting for her anymore.
First off, I am so envious that you got to go to conference. Secondly, I think that talk by Elder Ballard was really titled "what Lacey needed to hear", and thirdly, those nieces of yours are just edible! You deserve every minute of that break, but I'm sure Hyrum and the kids are thriled (THRILLED) to have you back!
Oh why couldn't that weekend last forever? My laundry pile looks about the same as yours! I still need to watch the Sunday session- I heard it was amazing!
Yes, I am too jealous of your trip out to conference! I would love to meet up with my sisters for a girls weekend! You deserved that trip girl! I feel your pain with the laundry! I think my laundry is about twice that! UGH! OH and HAPPY LATE BIRTHDAY! Sorry I'm so bad about remembering birthdays! Even though you emailed a list of everyone's birthdays, but I've some how lost it! (Sigh)...... I'm glad you had a great time with your sisters and going to conference!
Why oh why is Texas so far away!?!? We miss you so!! We loved your visit and having you stay with us! What a fun birthday visit. I love that for the next little bit you and Michael are 31 together!!:)
Those babies are adorable!!
Sounds like so much fun! I would love a reunion with my mom and siters. Glad you got a little get away.
PS I like the High School Musical song on your playlist :)
